Best Affordable Stove
The Soto Amicus was the best affordable backpacking stove tested. It is lightweight (72 grams / 2.5 ounces) with an attached four-prong pot stand, boils 2-cups of water in 110 seconds, works in the wind, simmers well, packs up small, and is relatively fuel-efficient. The maximum estimated 2 cup boils per 100 gram fuel canister is 13. It just takes more time to boil water and is a little less fuel efficient than the more expensive Soto WindMaster.
